We dedicate this website to our founder, Ruth Roberts.

After several moves due to Mr. Roberts' career, Ruth Roberts and family moved to Tampa in 1950.  Ruth had always found the local welcome club upon arrival in a new town, but found none in Tampa.  She organized The Tampa Hospitality Service and after several name changes, this club, now known as Tampa Bay Newcomers, still serves to help people new to Tampa make new friends.  Newcomers are able to walk into a meeting and find room full of other people who were once new to the area and wanting to be friends.  As long as just one person makes a friend through this club, her legacy will live long after her.
